Why and What?
As Austinites, theater-makers, arts supporters, eclectic and eccentric citizens, we have long-wished for a manageable, bespoke, and private space to gather. A secluded space for scintillating and inspiring conversations, private curated events, show 'n' tell experiences, seeped in pride and supportive spheres for burgeoning ideas. A playground, a laboratory, a sacred site, a cavern for creative birth...in South Austin.
South Austin Arts Society is malleable, modular, and delightful. SAAS offers artists and their dedicated patrons a secluded, clean, intimate, comfortable, radically inclusive and welcoming space. SAAS can meet anywhere where members choose, however, there is always a home at Grotto 101.
Membership tiers provide stability that help pay fees towards the venue, salon session treats, staffing for events, and networking communication infrastructure. The board of directors intend that all potential members, who are in alignment with the mission of SAAS, have the ability to join at a level that is financially accessible.
In these early stages of development, SAAS members have enormous influence on what this organization could become, what magic might transpire.
